Jean Sage Memorial Award to Peter Meierhofer

Each year the Grand Prix Drivers Club presents the Jean Sage Memorial Award to a person who has assisted the Club over a number of years. The late Jean Sage who was team manager of Renault when they came into Grand Prix Race with their original turbo car at the British Grand Prix in 1977 was an important member of the club and left a bequest to create this Award.

This year it has been awarded to Peter Meierhofer who is a regular attendee at F1GPDC meetings and photographs the various events to add to the Club archives. Most of the members have been caught out by Peter and many of his photographs appear on the Club website.

He was unable to attend the recent General Assembly of the Club and so the presentation was made to Peter by Club General Secretary Theo Huschek and vice-President Emanuele Pirro recently.

“I feel very honoured to receive the Jean Sage Memorial Award 2018. What a great sportsman he was, and what a great pleasure it is for me to work with the GPDC-motor racing heroes from time to time”
