Today, February 23 marks the ninetieth birthday of the first of Germany’s new era of racing drivers, Hans Herrmann.
His call-up by Mercedes Benz to be the third driver in their reborn 1954 grand prix team was one of the high points in his racing career, a career which had many high points including the first Le Mans win by Porsche, and a few low ones.
Hans is holding a big party to celebrate and many of his racing friends and fellow members of the Grand Prix Drivers Club will be attending.
The club wishes Hans a very happy birthday and more to come.
