At the recent General Assembly of the Grand Prix Drivers Club held at Imola during the Minardi Day event organised by GPDC member Giancarlo Minardi, Emanuele Pirro was unanimously voted as the new President of the Club.
This came about following the completion of former President Howden Ganley’s two terms of office. At the same time, Hans Joachim Stuck was unable to stand for a second term as Vice-President due to the pressure of work.
With Emanuele stepping up from Vice-President to President it meant that two new Vice-President’s were due to be appointed. The new Vice Presidents are former BMW Formula 1 Director Mario Theissen and Australian grand prix driver Tim Schenken. The fourth member of the Board is the General Secretary of the Club, Theo Huschek
